Fix GApps Not Working After ROM Flash

Play Store not opening? Device not certified? This guide fixes 90% of Google Apps issues after a custom ROM flash.

🔍 Why GApps Break After Flashing

When you flash a custom ROM, Google's servers see a new device fingerprint. If the ROM's fingerprint isn't certified by Google (which many custom ROMs aren't), the Play Store shows errors like "Device not certified", apps fail to install, or Play Protect behaves erratically.

The good news: this is almost always fixable in under 5 minutes.

⚡ Quick Fix — Device Registration

This fixes the "Device not certified by Google" error:

1
Go to Settings → About phone → tap Build Number 7 times to enable Developer Options
2
Open a browser and go to google.com/android/uncertified
3
Find your Android ID by opening a dialer and typing *#*#8255#*#* or from Settings → Developer Options → Android ID
4
Enter your Android ID on the Google page and click Register
5
Clear data for Google Play Store and Google Play Services, then reboot
6
Wait 10–15 minutes after reboot before opening Play Store — give Google's servers time to recognize the registration

🔧 Fix Play Store "No Connection" Error

1
Go to Settings → Apps → See all apps
2
Find Google Play Store → Storage → Clear Cache + Clear Data
3
Find Google Play Services → Storage → Clear Cache (do NOT clear data)
4
Find Google Services Framework → Storage → Clear Cache + Clear Data
5
Reboot and sign in to your Google account fresh

🏦 Fix Banking Apps Not Working

Banking apps use Google Play Integrity (formerly SafetyNet) to detect rooted or modified devices. Fix options:

  • Option 1: Most modern ROMs pass Play Integrity by default — check Settings → Security → Play Integrity status
  • Option 2: Use Island or Shelter app to run banking apps in a work profile (bypasses checks)
  • Option 3: If your ROM supports it, enable Spoof Play Integrity in Developer Options
  • Option 4: For Axion OS and Evolution X — toggle Play Integrity Fix in ROM settings (built-in)
